CRIMINAL RECORDS CERTIFICATE (CRC) ISSUANCE

The Korean National Police Agency (KNPA) is providing Criminal Records Certificates (CRC) to Korean nationals living abroad and foreign nationals who lived in Korea in the past.  This service is free of charge and can be requested by mail from the overseas for your convenience.

        ※ Korean nationals as well as foreigners who currently live in Korea can request this service through local police stations.

The CRC provides facts pertaining to the applicant's criminal activities within the jurisdictions of the Republic of Korea.

How to apply from overseas :

1.      Must come to the Korean Embassy or Korean Consulate General with your passport, and fill out an application form ("APPLICATION FOR CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK").

2.    Enclose 1 copy of photo (3 x 4㎝), a copy of passport, and self-addressed return envelope and a cover letter with International Couriers Arrangement. Please use International Couriers listed below.

Completed Form MUST BE CERTIFIED by Korean Embassy personnel with a seal or stamp.  Your application will not be processed at the KNPA if this seal or stamp is missing.
